It was 2016 when Google’s AI – AlphaGo – defeated the world champion Go player Lee Sedol. Four times. (Go is a complex, over 2,500-year-old Chinese board game). Yet, back then, everyone took it as trivia. Everyone, but business. Amazon’s recommendation engine and Alexa had been there for a while, and Pinterest launched their visual search the next year – all of that was AI-powered. Still, regular people couldn’t really feel that they used AI. Until AI could analyze large datasets and recognize images and speech like a human. Until it could create.
Now everyone uses it, now AI is cool. But people who've been watching it the whole time are ahead of the rest. Let me tell you about my day-to-day relationship with AI as a Managing Director at Kogifi – a mid-sized DXP agency.
How does AI impact my work?
Without further ado, let’s get straight to the exact AI tools I use and how they help me:
Operational Management
Streamlining processes. My main communicator is Microsoft Teams. I use AI-powered add-ons, like Meeting Insights by Insightly, to automatically generate summaries from my meetings. Sometimes I also use AI-powered assistants like Otter.ai to do that, plus it tracks action items.
Data Integration and Analysis
Consolidating information from various sources. In my case it means tools like Tableau and Power BI that integrate with project management tools, client emails, meeting notes, Jira and Slack. It gives me comprehensive data visualization and real-time analysis. AI algorithms identify patterns and correlations, so I can monitor project status, identify risks and make informed decision-making. Really powerful stuff.
Efficiency and Productivity
Automating routine tasks that I prefer to skip. I do prefer speaking than writing, so I’m grateful for tools like Grammarly and Crystal Knows that boost my email communication. The latter even recognizes the unique personality of my Clients. Which, in turns, is crucial for…
Business Development
… ensuring culturally appropriate approaches – I work globally, but worldwide business needs local context. So I use AI-driven CRM systems like Salesforce Einstein and HubSpot to analyze market trends and client interactions. Natural language processing (NLP) tools help me understand my Client’s needs more deeply.
Digital Experience Platforms (DXP)
Offering personalizing functionality in DXP. Platforms like Sitecore Experience Platform and Adobe Experience Manager use AI to deliver personalized customer experiences by analyzing user behavior. This capability aligns with our strategic focus on DXP as scalable, tailored solutions. So it’s both client-wise and business-wise.
So, this is my AI toolbox in 2024. What’s yours? Feel free to share your list, so we can inspire each other!
